Ok - Has Anyone Broken A Freak???

I am asking this because I want DETAILS - What kind of ball was used? How many balls at a guess where hit with it? Who all used it? What weight is it? Where and how did it actually break? What actually broke on the bat?

I saw that someone posted a while back that their team had broke one, the 1st one... I posted these same questions and figured whoever posted never checked back with the thread.

I have a Freak and honestly have hit about 250 balls with it, this afternoon I am going to put about another 200 swings on it, with Dudley 44/375 balls. I am trying to break this bat in, and I am also counting on it to be my gamer this year. I need it to hold up for ATLEAST 2 months. I have a Crush that I am going to break in for my backup bat for whatever reason. But I am COUNTING on the Freak - I need to... Any information would be most apreciated - but I need to know only if you REALLY BROKE ONE.

I can use all this info to determine - how much break in I need - then life expectancy - then if I do need to get that PST MAX also (probably still will).

If all else fails, get a synergy or synergy 2. The durability of the second batch is awesome. We have one with 1000+ swings on it with no signs of break down at all. The bat just keeps getting hotter.

Yeah - I am thinking of that TW - I have swung the 2nd batch Synergy and didnt like it as much as the original (I am talking swing weight and feel - not pop) - but its not legal here anyway. I am still not confident with the Synergy 2 but figure its got to be pretty good. I do know the PST is good, the RT is good and I can get both for very little. I am thinking I can get both for under 400, close to 350. Thanks man - thanks alot for the thoughts though. OH - I play almost exclusively ASA.

PS - still waiting to see if anyone has broken a FREAK... so far NO.

DANG.... That one is BROKE... but it sounds like its not the norm... sounds like other guys who fly thru bats dont go thru the freak. Hopefully I am included in that.

Tonight I am going to put mine thru some major steps and see where it ends up.

PS - some of those shots look like he had a Broke U2 also? Broke exactly the same way as the freak?

My freak has had probably 300-400 hits and is in perfect shape and the ball is really flying off it.

Actually, those are my pics. I broke it last saturday during batting practice. The weather was 62 degrees and we were using 44core/525comp balls.....The Freak had less than 300, no more than 500 hits or so!........When I first got the bat, it felt really stiff........so I've been trying to break it in!....Before it cracked, I felt this bat really flexing nice...I was hitting some 350ft shots.....I was getting same distance from my ultra2....I am no masher, I go about 5'7" 155lbs.This bat was rock'n before it cracked....Maybe I should not have been using 525comp balls?....but anyway,I'll send it back and then maybe no BP with the bat, only game use!

That is exactly the info I was looking for - Mine will be going thru the steps - and I know that I will probably be picking up a PST MAX before they disappear for the pop and durability.

I will be honest - tonight mine will be fairly stress tested and I go thru bats pretty quick.

i think you got a dud bat ive never heard of a guy who is 5'7 155lbs breaking bats you sure they werent 50 core balls ?

Positive!......44/525.......I have craked 2 ultra2's and 1 ultra1....But then again I do let a lot of people on my team use my bats!....But I really think the Freak was a fluke....defect?....I don't know!......
x66stangx........To answer your question....Yes 5'7" 155...But recently lost 25 lbs.....and I think I have a lot of upper body strength that helps....working out 4 times a week helps.....But an example of my upper body strength is that I can bench press twice my body weight roughly...300lbs....trying to get 310lbs...hopefully....I don't claim to hit 400ft like some people...All I know, is most of the fences I play are 300ft....so if it goes over, thats all I care....Nobody on my teams care about distance.

you cut open about 500 + in bats!!!! You must be rich or something! I would have taken them out for BP and Broke them 1st! LOL!!!! =)

44/525 balls are rocks man... But its good to know - I dont recall the last time I hit a ball that hard? I know I just hate those debear 40 cor low compression suckers!

HAHAH! You're kidding right? I'm an under-paid website designer. The whole dot-com fiasco killed me. When I got out of college, there were no jobs available. I'm still working for the same company that I did when I was 16 years old. (SoftballJunk.com)

Those bats were given to me by some product reps. They're great aids for selling bats. The more educated about the game you are, the better player you become.
