USSSA Elite Evil Balls

I just started using some USSSA Elite Evils this season. I had been using some ASA Evils that I bought 2 years ago. These Elite Evils seem to hit almost like a mush ball compared to the ASA ones. Tonight's game we switched about half way thru back to the ASA's and the first at bat was a home run. Are these Elites actually not as hot as the ASA's?? Or are the Evils just not as hot as they were when I ordered my ASA's?

The original year that Evil started producing balls, they were all hot as fire. However, I heard that all of the associations started coming down on all the manufacturers about toning the balls down to what they were supposed to be. EVIL and Decker Balls used to be hot 2 and 3 years ago, now the Dudley Thunder Advanced are hot. I am sure that they will get on Dudley this year and theirs will be toned down some too.

Snow, keep in mind any ball 2 years old is going to be harder than a new ball of the same core and compression. Balls continue to cure over time getting harder each month for a while. If you found a 2 year old gold dot it would be hotter than a new gold dot.
Our League certified balls were Never over the spec just as close to the limit as science would allow.

Brad, you are correct, the associations will have no tolerance for over run polymer compressed balls this year. I know this as a Director who travels every year to U-Trip Headquaters for the Mixed World. Trust me, that 90% of the balls will be equal or they will be dissbarred, especailly in 09 with the new standard for U-Trip balls.
