Pitching machine

Me and some guys are looking into building our own batting cage. Do any of you know something about pitching machines? Where do you find them; which ones are good; cost,etc...?

I want to build one cheap. I have all sorts of ideas but no plans yet. There was a thread on this a while ago.

Unhappy

Well, I tried to market the "BPmate" Idea thru InventTech But never got any bites. Also, everything had to be put on hold for awhile, I'm being deployed to Iraq.

I got a small mpeg clip of it, but even after zip'n it up, its still too big to post here. 1.18mb

Bam, hate to hear that you're being deployed. Me and my families thoughts & prayers go out to you and your family. Words cannot begin to express how thankful we are for what you & the other men and women of our armed forces do for us everyday. You're doing a job for people you don't even know.

Good luck, God speed and come home safely!

If you guys have a Yahoo ID, after you sign in you can see the vid clip of the machine here: http://f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/...ase.yahoo.com/

But if you dont have an ID, you can still see the pics.

ooops, this is what it says on public sharing:

*Please note: If you are a member of the free Yahoo! Briefcase service, public access to your uploaded files will no longer be available. However, you will still be able to share your files with people with Yahoo! IDs and via email.

I dunno, maybe if somebody else can post it somewhere, I'll send it to them.

or give me your yahoo ID and I'll add you?

I have been rethinking this, as far as ways to get power. The idea of recycling an old lawnmower could get complicated or expensive, depending on the availibility of materials.

Is there a way to maybe shoot it out of a tube with compressed air? (potato cannon style)

How about using some sort of kicking motion, think of those toys that kick field goals.

Every time I watch Robot Rivals on DIY Network I get more ideas of how to build one cheap.
