I think if you talked to the others in the "best outfield glove" thread you might be wrong.

Haha sure.

Good thing we have an ASA ump here on the boards to tell us the legality of this. NCASAUmp, what say you?

I prefer my glove to have a little more weight, and I oil it for that purpose...not rediculously heavy, but heavier than normal. The additional weight helps absorb some of the energy of those screamers down at 3rd (paid attention in h.s. physics a little anyway)...and it does make a difference. Does that mean my glove is illegal because its been loaded?

No I have not but if you talk to them about stuff like this then it's probably best I don't.

I may be wrong but I'll just go with my gut instinct and say that I'm right

So is winter/fall better because northern people had more time for practice before a 3 month shut down??? lmk, because bp indoors is a LOT different from outdoor! There might be some super scientific thing way beyond SBF people going on here............ you might be good in the winter and cold weather, but it might depend on how much, if any, of a layoff you have had.............

True

There is actually one glove maker that already shaves some models of their gloves.

I see you are up "north" as well. Here is another thought! You guys train like crazy in the winter, then spring starts and tournaments starts...... beer starts flowing..... you lose track of the gym and things like that..... before you know it, it is August and you have been partying like crazy at tournaments and missed the gym, so you blame summer time for lack of power and try to pull out an F3 or something????

Dead serious............ Is it legal to shave a glove???

I mean, SERIOUSLY, think about it! I know there was a thread recently talking about the differences in size recently and there was a lot of debate on it. I play outfield, have used a 12.5 the last few years and loved it. I came across a good deal on a 14 incher recently so I bought it.

It is a little awkward, not too much, I think it will brake in fine and will add extra length to my super all star diving catches. On the serious side here, it just feels "heavy" and I remember people from the other thread talking about how they seem to have more control catching and run with speed with a smaller glove. I TOTALLY AGREE!

Since there is too much bat talk and not enough ball talk on here, I guess I would compare it to a balance point on a bat. I mean, this 14 inch seems heavier and more awkward, but what I noticed is that the pink finger of the glove is as big as the thumb finger!!!!

If I unthread, chainsaw, slice off in any manner the pinky portion of this glove, which where therefore make my glove lighter, and flexible, and more skillz to the peep using it, IS THAT LEGAL IN ASA????

Seriously, the glove seems great, just a little too heavy, and I think I can get used to the length of it with my all star diving catches

Can I actually remove a finger off a glove in ASA play to make my glove lighter and make me more mobile??? I have never seen and ump check a glove in ASA.......... and if your pinky is sticking out know one would never know!

Does anyone actually check gloves yet, or am I way behind the times??? If I am behind the times, who can alter gloves for me??? If I am on to something totally know............. OHH YEAH!@!!
this sounds redonkulous... hit the gym...

So EAT IT all you haters!! Now, who is this so I can have a 14 incher that is lighter than a 12 incher???? I would like my glove to make me ultra quick!

Seriously, none of you have watched the BCS bowl games??? That is all they talked about! The new technology that made some uniforms lighter than others!

Again, I am half joking around here, but it is really possible!
